The Manuscripts Collection at Colorado State University’s Archives and Special Collection Department consists of textual, photographic, and electronic materials of regional, cultural or historic significance that fall outside of the collecting parameters of the University Archive, the Agricultural and Natural Resources Archive and the Water Resources Archive.

Collecting areas of interest for the Manuscripts Collection include Western History and the social and cultural history of individuals living and working within the State of Colorado— especially Larimer and Weld Counties. Consideration is also given to collections that are of long-term educational and instructional value to students at CSU, as well as those that complement existing collections in the University Archive and CSU’s Special Collections (e.g. the Germans from Russia Collection, the Records of the Peace Corps, the Feminist Press Collection, the Vietnam War Literature Collection, and the International Poster Collection).

While some printed monographs and secondary source materials (e.g. books and journals) may be included in donated manuscript collections, please note that the Manuscripts Collection focuses on primary source and unpublished materials created by individuals—or groups of individuals.
