Library Instruction & Student Engagement

Purpose: Moving Rams toward knowledge: Building relationships that empower equitable and critical engagement with information.

We offer opportunities for teaching faculty to collaborate with librarians to enhance student support and contribute to student success:

Subject-specific instruction

Librarians are available to teach information literacy instruction sessions both in person and in an online environment. Librarians can develop classroom activities and lesson plans based on student research needs. Support for asynchronous classes is also available, and may include instructional videos, worksheets, and lesson plans.

One-on-one research support for students & faculty

Librarians provide virtual research support via MS Teams, telephone, email, and chat. Subject-specific librarians have dedicated “chat” and virtual office hours.

Effective research assignment design

Librarians are available to collaborate with teaching faculty to design research assignments that emphasize critical thinking and promote effective research skills.

Online guides & tutorials

CSU Libraries has a number of online resources, including research guides, videos, and tutorials, currently available that support student learning and discovery in the virtual environment.
