Frequently Asked Questions

What is the loan period?

Most items have a 6 week loan period from the time we receive them. Interlibrary Loan materials are not renewable and may be recalled by the lending library at any time. Some formats such as videos, CDs, microfilm, bound journals and old or rare books may have a shorter loan period or only be available for use in the library.

How soon will requests arrive?

Many articles arrive within 24 hours of being requested. Some more obscure journals may take us a week or two to obtain the article.

Books typically take a week to ten days to arrive. Try the Prospector service first. The Prospector catalog is a group of Colorado libraries and items requested through this service frequently arrive within 3 or 4 working days.

How will I know my request has arrived?

Books may be mailed to your home or office address that you specify on your ILLiad profile.

If you are at The Veterinary Teaching Hospital Library, Interlibrary loan books will be delivered to that branch by the library courier the next day after receipt. You may also wish to pick up your books at the Library Services Desk. ILLiad will send you an email to let you know your book has arrived and is ready for pickup at either Morgan or the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Library.
