The CSU Library extends full privileges to affiliates of the University, such as Visiting Associates or Joint Associates. These privileges are the same as those granted to faculty members, such as:

• Six-month checkout period for monographs
• Loan limit of up to 200 items
• Access to Prospector and ILL services via the CSU Libraries
• Remote access to online resources, including e-books, e-journals and databases

In order to use library resources, affiliates must be entered into the Affiliates Database by the department with which they are affiliated. (This is typically done with an Affiliate Associate assignment in Oracle.) Once entered into the Affiliates Database, affiliates are automatically added to the library’s patron database.

Like other patrons, affiliates must present their CSU ID or photo ID to borrow books, and use their NetID to access online resources. Library access will remain available as long as the affiliate’s assignment is active with the department.
