Dan Merriman is currently employed by HARRIS Water Engineering, Inc. of Durango, Colorado. He operates a branch office out of his home west of Boulder, but spends a great deal of his time on the road. Prior to joining Harris Water Engineering, Dan worked for the Colorado Water Conservation Board for over 30 years before retiring last February. During much of his career with the Board, he was responsible for the daily administration of Colorado’s Instream Flow and Natural Lake Level Program, which involved overseeing: New Appropriations, Acquisitions, Legal Protection, Physical Protection and the necessary biological and engineering support for these sub-program areas to provide protection for approximately 2000 water rights representing over 8500 miles of stream and nearly 500 natural lakes. He looks forward to continuing his efforts in water resource planning and in supporting reasonable resource protection and development.
