How to Replace Lost Books
BOOK REPLACEMENT POLICY
Lost materials are subject to a $95 replacement fee, as well as a non-refundable $5 administrative charge per item. In some cases, patrons may be allowed to purchase a replacement copy for the library instead of paying a replacement fee. If you are interested in this option, you must contact the CSU Libraries Billing Technician (email@example.com or (970) 491-1122) before proceeding.
The following guidelines apply to replacement items:
- The replacement item must be identical to the missing item (same ISBN/copyright date)
- Replacement materials must be new; used materials will not be accepted
- Replacement copies must be delivered to the Loan & Reserve Desk. If you are unable to deliver the item in person, mail it to: Morgan Library, Attn: Records Unit, Room 161, Colorado State University, 1019 Campus Delivery, Fort Collins, CO 80523-1019. Please include your full contact information, including CSU ID number, with the item.
In some cases, an exact replica of the missing item may not be available. In those cases, the billing technician may refer you to a subject librarian, who will consider whether an alternative copy may be acceptable.
All replacement items are subject to a $5 processing fee in addition to any existing fines or fees on the patron’s account.
