Second, the website is a communication tool and not a transaction site. Nothing will be sold on it.  Think of the site as a destination in which an organization visits to learn about place building and a self-assessment tool to help them advance some new strategies based on over 15 years of research on how organizations value the places in which they reside.

A key point to be made in validated our proposition about place building is this: our research has revealed that our profession and practitioners are ready or primed for a more innovative  perspective on how organizations relate to their community and the kind of role they play as a measured across a spectrum from exploitive to transformational (see place building model below).

This spectrum (see place building model below) can help organizations identify their type and assess their strategies and communities to ensure they are recruiting and retain best fitting organizations.
