The Anschutz Family Foundation has agreed to support Writers on the Plains. The Anschutz Family Foundation’s $5,000 grant resulted from a proposal demonstrating the project’s potential benefits to rural communities.
The Bloedorn Foundation has agreed to support Writers on the Plains in Morgan County during the spring of 2006.
Book Organizations of Colorado has invited Writers on the Plains to join their organization and will help spread the word about upcoming events.
The CSU Bookstore currently stocks the work of the Writers on the Plains authors. They will be on staff at each visiting author reading to sell books to audience members. William Kloefkorn’s reading on April 20, 2006 will be hosted by the CSU bookstore as well.
Community Foundation of Northern Colorado Davidson Family Fund will support national author visits to Fort Collins. These authors include William Kloefkorn in April of 2006 and James Galvin in the fall of 2006.
Initial funding was provided by a grant from the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County.
The Friends of CSU Libraries chose to donate an additional $4,000 to provide participating libraries with multiple copies of visiting authors’ books.
The Hilton Fort Collins has agreed to support Writers on the Plains by housing our visiting authors in their newly renovated hotel.
KRFC has extended on-air publicity support to promote the Writers on the Plains national author visits. Writers on the Plains hopes that this support will draw a larger number of participants.
KUNC has agreed to sponsor Writers on the Plains by extending on-air and on-line promotional support. Writers on the Plains hopes that this support will enable the program to serve a broader range of participants.
Norlarco Credit Union has extended its support to Writers on the Plains with a grant of $3,200 to support the Fort Collins aspects of the 2005-2006 program.
Writing@CSU donated funds to develop the Web site for Writers on the Plains.
Ongoing fundraising efforts include several pending and upcoming grant proposals and a mailing to alumni and library donors in partner communities.
