Workshop

Spencer Lockwood lead a writing workshop in Morgan County in the spring of 2006 both online and in-person via the Fort Morgan Public Library.

Biography

Spencer was born in Fort Morgan in 1938 and grew up in Wray, Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado, earning a Bachelor of Music Education and a Masters in Music Performance (Percussion). Between the two degrees, Spencer spent four years in the Air Force as a musician with the NORAD Command Band. From 1968 to 1974, Spencer was an Assistant Professor of Music at the University of South Florida, where he taught percussion and music history. Spencer moved back to Fort Morgan in 1976, and has lived there ever since.

Spencer Lockwood has published five western novels: Shootout at Sandcastle, Revenge of the Gambler, The Boy and the Gunfighter, Duel at Freemark, and Frank Bear, written under the pseudonym Spencer Knight. He is currently working on a mystery short story set in Denver in 1885.
