Downloading || Installation

 

These instructions cover the manual downloading and installation process used for Netscape and some earlier versions of Internet Explorer. Newer versions of Internet Explorer use an Auto Install feature which automatically installs the program for you after you click on the Download Now button. For more information about the Flash player, including system requirements, check the Macromedia Web Site.

Downloading

 

1. Go to the Macromedia Web site and click on the Download Now button.

2. Click on Save to start downloading. Remember the directory and filename so that you can find the file again!

In this example, the directory is the Desktop and the filename is: flashplug-in5installer.exe

3. The file will start downloading. This takes approximately 1 minute on a 56 K modem.

4. Close your Web browser and locate the downloaded file to begin installation.

Installation

 

If you haven't already, find the downloaded file and double click on it to start the installation. (See step 4 above.)

1. Click on Next.

2. Your Web browser & version should be listed. You can change this information by clicking on the Other Browser button.

3. Click on the Continue button.

4. The program will begin to install. This will take a few minutes.

 

5. Installation is complete! A Web page with more information about the player will open. Click on the X in the upper right hand corner to close this page.
