Question:
I know the name of a book (or journal) I want, but I can't find it in the Library Catalog (Sage). What does that mean? How do I get it?
Answer:
The book or journal you were looking for probably isn't owned by the CSU Libraries. Staff at the Information Desk will double-check your search, but you may want to use the Regional Catalog (Prospector) or Interlibrary Loan.
The < a href="http://prospector.coalliance.org/">Regional Catalog (Prospector) is a shared catalog that allows you to request books (not journals) from member libraries. Click the Regional Catalog (Prospector) button after an unsuccessful Library Catalog (Sage) search. If a member library owns the book you want, click the link that says Request this item. Enter your last name and CSU ID number to request the book. Most Regional Catalog (Prospector) requests arrive on campus in 2-5 days and can be picked up at the CSU Libraries location that you choose.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service for CSU faculty, staff and students to obtain items from other libraries or for Local Document Delivery of items in our own collection. To make a request for either Interlibrary Loan or local document delivery items, please go to: http://lib.colostate.edu/ill/. Illiad, the Interlibrary Loan online request system, will ask you for information about your request. All articles, conference papers and other copies are posted to Webview on your ILLiad account. You may choose to pick up your ILL books at either the Morgan Library Loan Desk, the Vet Branch Library, or the Atmospheric Branch Library. If you choose this option, you will receive an email when your books are available. Another option is to have your books mailed to your office or home address.
