    GeoRef.
    This is a comprehensive electronic index of the literature in geology and related areas. Indexes journal articles, conference proceedings, U.S. Government publications (mostly U.S.G.S.), books and other material. Also provides coverage of the pre-1945 literature.

    GeoBase
    This index concentrates on journal articles in geology. It is a particularly strong file for papers published in European journals.

    ASFA 2 : Ocean Technology, Policy and Non-Living Resources
     This index covers journal articles on a variety of topics related to the ocean, including the geology, geochemistry, geophysics, and coastal structures. It covers the period of 1978 to the present.

    Oceanic Abstracts
    Journal articles on marine geology, earth resources, geophysics, and geochemistry of the ocean are indexed in this database. It covers the period of 1981 to the present.

    Meteorological & Geastrophysical Abstracts
    Although focused on meteorological research, this database covers journal literature on physical oceanography, hydrology, geology and earth resources. Coverage is fro 1966 to the present.

    Water Resources Abstracts
    Indexes published materials dealing with all aspects of water. This includes: articles in scientific journals, conference proceeding papers, government reports and books. Coverage extends from 1967 to the present.

    Web of Science
    This source references articles which have been cited in the scientific literature. This is a particularly good index for identifying important and influential papers. It is also useful for following citation trails consisting of papers which cite particular articles or authors.
