  • Fashiondex publications in the areas of retailing and textile & apparel technology.

      • About.com Fashion Designers lists fashion industry links including an A-Z index of designers as well as a Photo Gallery.
      • Biography and Geneology Master Index (updated biannually) comprehensive index to 12 million biographical sketches. Check Morgan Library holdings for individual sources. Available on campus or remotely to CSU faculty, staff and students.

Images

  • Fashion Columbia Study Collection - Women's Costume Collection. Columbia College (Chicago). Selected images by designer, date, or keyword. Some items only have a description and no image. Many of the items with images include both a front and a back view. See also Men's and Ethnic Collections.
  • Dictionary of Art Online full text version of the Dictionary of Art and Oxford Companion to Western Art with browsing and keyword search capabilities. The online version offers external links within the dictionary entries to authorative Websites of relevant museums, galleries and universities with full text images. Art Resources, Bridgeman Art Library, and Art Images have many thousands of images.

  • American Apparel and Footware Association (AAFA) lists numerous links to industry news and information, consumer information and events calendar.
  • American Textile Manufacturers Institute (ATMI) searchable site with information for textile buyers as well as industry standards, trade and economic data.
  • Census Bureau retail and wholesale trade data, foreign trade, economic census and population census, all full text, mainly in .pdf files.
  • Fashion Windows includes numerous sources for visual merchandising, display and designer information, sponsored by a private company of the same name.
  • FiberSource information of international fiber production, fiber news and statistics, and particular fiber types with corresponding manuafacturers. Sponsored by American Fiber Manufacturers Association / Fiber Economics Bureau, Inc.
  • National Retail Federation includes background, membership and current news for the organization as well as industry news, links to relevant government publications and sources for the independent retailer.
  • Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) trade news and data from the U.S. Department of Commerce - International Trade Administration.
