Patents

Print finding aids for U.S. patents are located in the Government Documents area of the library, which is located on the fourth floor, east wing. Electronic finding aids can be accessed in the Morgan Library Computer Lab, located on the first floor, west wing. These finding aids include:

  • CASSIS Database. This is a CD-ROM database published through the Patent Depository Library Program. It gives references to selected U.S. patents and provides for subject, patentee and patent number searching.
  • Official gazette of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Government Documents C 21.5. Gives summaries and drawings for all U.S. patents. Arranged by patent number.

Full text copies of patents are available on inter-library loan through the Denver Public Library which is the patent depository library for Colorado.
