Information About the Unavailable Images

While poster images from the 1995 and later exhibitions are available for viewing without restriction, those from the 1991 and 1993 exhibitions are restricted to Colorado State University users due to the artist agreements for those years. Instead of the full-size poster images for 1991 and 1993, non-CSU users will see an "Image Unavailable" graphic. For additional information, please contact us.

Design

The present site, released September 2007, is a redesign of the previous site which was available from September 2001 to August 2007. The redesign was done by Greg Vogl and Larry Wilson with feedback from Patty Rettig and Dennis Ogg.

The images used on the left side of every page are randomly selected posters from the collection.

Databases

New with the 2001 release of the Web site are the poster database and the artist database. While poster images and information were previously available, having them in a database greatly enhances searching capability. The software used to power the poster database is CONTENTdm. This allows not only searching from two different search interfaces (basic and advanced), but also linking of search terms within the cataloging record.

The artist database runs with MySQL using PhP scripts to query the database and display the results. The programming for the artist database and making the artist and poster databases work together was done by Dennis Ogg and Eric Hokanson.
