Poster Data Dictionary
- Artist
- the name of the artist.
- Artist information
- link to information about the artist from the artist database.
- Award
- award won in the CIIPE exhibition.
- Condition
- type of paper used, overall physical condition of the poster and any conservation actions taken.
- Country
- country in which the artist was living/working at time of poster creation.
- CSU exhibition year
- year that the poster was entered in the CIIPE. For exhibited posters, "Exhibited" precedes the year; for posters entered but not exhibited, "Submitted" precedes the year.
- Date
- year the poster was created. Brackets indicate that a best-guess was made.
- Date available
- date that the image was made available online.
- Description
- the text of the poster. An ellipsis generally indicates omitted text. Also contains notes such as "Title from catalog."
- Dimensions
- size of the poster, height by width in centimeters.
- Exhibition citation for the CIIPE
- exhibition of which the poster was a part.
- Image
- description of the poster's image.
- Language
- language of the text of the poster.
- Place
- city and state where publisher is located.
- Poster number
- the unique number assigned to the poster.
- Prepress media
- the media the artist used to create the poster.
- Printing process
- the method the artist used to print the poster.
- Publisher
- entity which made the digital image available.
- Purpose
- the purpose of the poster, as given by the artist on the poster label.
- Reference
- citation for the exhibition catalog, if the poster was pictured there.
- Rights
- link to copyright statement.
- Subject
- subjects of the poster. There are three categories of subjects: of, about, is. OF corresponds to what is actually pictured in the poster. ABOUT corresponds to the topic of the poster. IS corresponds to the genre of the poster, or the poster type.
- Title
- title of the poster. Typically, the most prominent text of the poster.
