The Binding Section is responsible for:
- Theses and
Dissertations
- After
the Graduate School has approved the thesis or dissertation, two copies are turned into
the Bindery staff. Following graduation, the copies are bound
and processed, then shelved by call number in the main collection.
Check SAGE for availability.
- Binding
- Processing of periodicals (journals/magazines).
The current two years of approximately 6,200 periodical subscriptions
are shelved in the Journal
Room unbound. Issues older than two years are gathered
and bundled, then sent to a commercial bookbinder to be hardbound.
The bound volumes are returned for final processing, then shelved
on the Movable
Shelves in the Lower Level of Morgan Library.
- Rebinding of monographs.
To extend their usability, books damaged from regular wear and tear
are sent to the commercial bookbinder for rebinding.
