Patrons may use phones to request assistance.REMOTE STORAGE Building for the storage of lesser-used library materials outside of the MORGAN LIBRARY on Lake Stree. Also known as the PRESERVATION LAB.REPLACEMENT FUND Officially called the Lost and Damaged Library Books Fund. This is an account used primarily to replace books, photocopy missing pages in books and journals, and aid in PRESERVATION of materials.REPRINT 1. Reimpression (intact) of material that has been published before. A central electronic location created and maintained for depositing research and/or scholarly output deemed appropriate by participating organizations, departments, or units.REQUEST An online service on SAGE which allows patrons to request items that are checked out or in storage. You must establish a PIN number to use this service. The one-time ordering of back issues of a JOURNAL or SERIAL to complete the set.RETROCON See RECON.RETROSPECTIVE CONVERSION See RECON.RFP Request for proposal. A document used to request bids for specified goods and services. Responses are evaluated according to specified criteria, not simply by price.RLG See RESEARCH LIBRARIES GROUP.RLIN See RESEARCH LIBRARIES INFORMATION NETWORK.RLIN ILL SUBSYSTEM This subsystem allows ELECTRONIC MAIL delivery of an INTERLIBRARY LOAN request to member institutions, automatically transferring it to up to six libraries.RLO Responsible Library Officer. By policy, this is the most senior supervisor in ACCESS SERVICES at the time of an emergency, safety or security issue. A master list of RLO names and phone numbers is updated regularly. An RLO is typically the on-site senior person, but guidance/instruction can also come remotely. The Coordinator of ACCESS SERVICES is the chief RLO. The ASSISTANT DEAN for Administrative Services (ADAS), if present or accessible, acts as an adjunct to the RLO.ROUTING Systematic circulating of material to staff members. |
