  • Identifies key library services (circulation, information/reference, reserve, Web/software/hardware availability) 

  • Distinguishes between the library catalog, databases, and the free Web as sources of information and can get to these resources

  • Understands that content differs by information format (books, newspaper articles, advertisements, scientific studies)

  • Understands that content varies in quality and can be evaluated using certain criteria (authority, purpose, date of publication, point of view)

  • Understands the Boolean AND as tool in database searching

  • Conducts author, title, and word searches for books in Sage catalog

  • Locates books and journal titles using Sage catalog

  • Understands that library databases are the first best sources for journal articles

  • Identifies key subject-related resources and indexes
