To download NetLibrary eBooks, patrons must a valid AdobeID and Adobe Digital Editions software installed.
NOTE: Adobe Reader 7-9 requires downloading and installing Adobe Digital Editions software. Registering an Adobe ID enables you to transfer items protected by digital rights management (DRM) between multiple computers or devices (up to 10) and restore them after a data loss or system reinstallation. It also allows you to view and manage your activity in the Adobe Worldwide Store.
To download an eBook, log into NetLibrary with your personal account credentials. Locate the title you wish to download. [Note that not all NetLibrary e-books are downloadable; some may only be view online.] On the eBook details screen, click on the link to "Check-out and download this eBook." The next screen will list the size of the file and estimated download time. Click "Download this e-content." If you have Adobe Reader 6 installed on your computer, the downloaded content will open in that application. If you have Adobe Reader 7 or higher, the content will open in the Adobe Digital Editions software. Users can create various digital bookshelves to store the downloaded content.
When you have finished reading the eBook, on the NetLibrary Home screen, click Checked Out Items (at the top right of the screen). Find your eBook in the list of Checked Out Items (you may have more than one book checked out at a time) and click Check In. You will see a message that says, "The eContent was checked in successfully."
