LeRoy Poff has been on the faculty of Biology since 1997. An aquatic ecologist focusing on conservation and restoration of stream and river ecosystems, he collaborates extensively with hydrologists, engineers, and geomorphologists. He regularly contributes expertise to NGOs, notably The Nature Conservancy, Trout Unlimited, and American Rivers. He is a leader in national and global efforts to develop the science of environmental flows for sustainable river management. He has been president of an international river society, has been on numerous national science review panels, and has given invited plenary presentations at major conferences in Australia, Spain, and England.
