ARL - Association of Research Libraries
ARL is a not-for-profit membership organization comprising the leading research libraries in North America. Its mission is to shape and influence forces affecting the future of research libraries in the process of scholarly communication. ARL programs and services promote equitable access to and effective use of recorded knowledge in support of teaching, research, scholarship, and community service. The Association articulates the concerns of research libraries and their institutions, forges coalitions, influences information policy development, and supports innovation and improvements in research library operations. The CSU Libraries is one of more than 120 member libraries. Statistics have been collected and published annually for members of the Association since 1961-62. BCR - The Bibliographical Center for Research
BCR with headquarters in Denver, Colorado, is a nonprofit multistate library cooperative founded in 1935. All types of libraries in its twelve member states are included in the membership and automatically receive BCR benefits which include significant discounts on numerous library products and services. In addition, BCR provides to its member libraries technical assistance and carries out staff training.
Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries
The Alliance is a partnership of research, public and educational institutions working in concert to serve the information needs of the constituencies of member institutions and the general public. Founded in 1974, the Alliance is a nonprofit consortium of large and small academic, large public, and specialized libraries. CSU is one of the eleven member libraries.
GWLA - Greater Western Library Alliance
The mission of the Greater Western Library Alliance, formerly the Big 12 Plus, is to deliver quality cost-effective services and resources required by clients of member institutions through joint action and collaboration. CSU is one of the 30 consortium members which includes research libraries located in the greater Midwest & Western U. S. with common interests in programs related to scholarly communication, interlibrary loan, shared electronic resources, cooperative collection development, digital libraries, staff development and continuing education.
SPARC - Scholarly Publishing & Academic Resources Coalition
SPARC is an alliance of universities, research libraries, and organizations built as a constructive response to market dysfunctions in the scholarly communication system. These dysfunctions have reduced dissemination of scholarship and crippled libraries. SPARC serves as a catalyst for action, helping to create systems that expand information dissemination and use in a networked digital environment while responding to the needs of scholars and academe.
