This week's tip is an interesting article exploring how faculty at Rochester Institute of Technology mined their course management system (CMS) to gather information about faculty-student interactions. Specifically, they looked at interactivity - as demonstrated through online postings, e-mail traffic, etc. - to help identify "heavy hitting" professors who interact with their students a great deal. While we in the Libraries are not as involved with CMS, the lesson about interactivity - and its relation to student course evaluation - is an interesting one:
