Cool Tools for School
This summer I've come across several free tools that may be helpful, if not just plain fun, in organizing information and in teaching. Some of these were mentioned at the ALA conference in June and some at the COLTT conference in Boulder last week. Each of these is a free resource.
- Jing To create quick tutorials. Very easy to use. Great for explaining something via email rather than a long-winded written explanation.
- bubbl.us
- D.volver
- Google Maps
Mindmapping software. If you're more of a spatial rather than linear planner, this is the tool for you. Great for organizing information and brainstorming. Files can be shared.
Just plain fun for creating quick movies. Perhaps useful for explaining concepts.
Create mashups. Can link with YouTube videos, webpages, etc.
Enjoy the last few days of summer break!
