New Microbial Bioinformatics Database

The Virginia Bioinformatics Institute has launched a new genomic database. The records currently include the full genomes of several Oomycetes and preparations are already underway to add Fungal Genomes and Bacterial Genomes. The database is searchable by Gene ID number, protein domain, or EST ID. This database also allows the users to perform BLAST searches. The VBI Microbial Database is available at http://phytophthora.vbi.vt.edu/.
