Camerawoman: "We can start now"
Jenn Johnigan: "Ok. I'm Jenn and, um, I'm a freshman, and I'm from Cheyenne, Wyoming."
Laura Schentag: "I'm Laura, and I'm a freshman also, and I'm from Parker, Colorado"
Jenn Johnigan: "And we became friends because we're roommates."
Laura Schentag: "Yeah, we didn't know each other coming in, so."
Jenn Johnigan: "And today's."
Laura Schentag: "August 18th"
Laura Schentag: "Yeah, 8/20"
Jenn Johnigan: "Ok. So, why did you choose CSU?"
Laura Schentag: "Um, I chose it because it's close to home, and I didn't want to pay out-of-state tuition. And I know a lot of people up here, and I know the campus pretty well, and that's pretty much it."
Jenn Johnigan: "What do you want from your CSU experience?"
Laura Schentag: "Um. I want to get involved and.I'm doing Political Science so I hope that I can go on-Like I want to do Law or something, so I hope that I can go on after CSU and do something else."
Jenn Johnigan: "So, what was your first meal on campus like?"
Laura Schentag: "Um, in the.in the cafeteria? It was, well, we ate in the cafeteria tonight, and it was weird because we had to walk around, and figure out what they had first. And it took us a while to find all the trays and silverware, and then we couldn't figure out where to put them first. But the food was good. I'm full, so."
Jenn Johnigan: "So what are your first impressions of the campus?"
Laura Schentag: "Um, it's really fun, there's a lot going on, there's a lot to do. It's really pretty, and it's more spread-out than other campuses I've been on. We've had to walk a lot today, so I'm getting pretty tired, but other than that..."
Jenn Johnigan: "What do you miss most about home?"
Laura Schentag: "Um. I miss my pets, and my parents and my brothers. Typical stuff, I guess. I think that's about it."
Jenn Johnigan: "So, do you have any advice for your future self?"
Laura Schentag: "Oh, that's a hard question."
Jenn Johnigan: "Yes." [laughs]
Laura Schentag: "Um, just always do my best, and not to worry about what other people say, because sometimes I let it get me down, but I can't because I have to go on in life."
Jenn Johnigan: "Well, I guess that's it."
