Purpose
The Archives and Special Collections Department of the Colorado State University Libraries collects, preserves, and provides access to rare books, manuscripts, and the records of Colorado State University in order to support research and scholarship.
Activities
The department receives, organizes, catalogs, stores, preserves, and provides physical and electronic access to archival materials. Outreach activities to increase awareness and use of existing materials and encourage donation of new materials include exhibits, presentations and fundraising.
Types of Materials Maintained
Materials come in many formats such as books, newspapers, photographs, maps, posters, diaries, letters, minutes, and audio recordings.
