| Abstract: | The athletic department was founded in March 1892 as the Athletic Association, for the purpose of organizing and encouraging the formation of a football team and other field sports. During the fall of 1899, the athletic association was reorganized. During the early 1900s, the Athletic Association sponsored the annual contests between the freshman and sophomore classes. This collection contains press releases from 1933 to 1936 during which time Colorado State University was ranked at the top of their conference in several sports. | |
