CSU Libraries is proud to announce that Wall Street Journal articles are now available online for the CSU community through a subscription to ProQuest. One of the nation’s premier news sources, the Wall Street Journal is among the most heavily used business resources by CSU students and faculty. Previously, access through CSU Libraries to Wall Street Journal articles was only available in print; electronic delivery of articles would need to be processed through Interlibrary Loan’s local document delivery service. Now, CSU students, faculty, and staff have electronic access to articles dating back to 1984.
“We hope that this will be a great help to our students and faculty,” notes Louise Feldmann, College Liaison Librarian for the College of Business. “There are many advantages to having this valuable resource online including access to articles now being available remotely and 24/7.”
This long-anticipated acquisition was made possible this fall through the careful allocation of the Libraries' serials budget. Recognizing the importance of online access to resources, the Libraries now spends nearly two thirds of its materials budget on electronic resources. Recent private donations as well as partnerships with consortia have enabled CSU Libraries to leverage monies and purchase more of these highly desired and highly costly items.
“The Libraries wants to put resources at our patron’s fingertips,” notes Patricia Smith, Coordinator for Collections and Contracts at CSU Libraries.
CSU students, faculty and staff now have online access to Wall Street Journal articles from 1984-present via the database vendor ProQuest. Access is available via the Libraries Research Databases page. Articles can also be retrieved through searches in databases such as Business Source Premier by pressing the “FindIt@CSU” button.
When logging on from distance, users will need to supply a Library PIN. Our distance webpage provides more information on remote access.
