Banned Books Week: Ahoy!
Treasure Your Freedom to Read and Get Hooked on a Banned
Book

Expand your mind. Explore new topics. Extend a conversation.

October 1 - October 31, 2007
Across from Loan & Reserve

Diversity Conference

First observed in 1982, Banned Books Week reminds Americans not to take this precious democratic freedom for granted. Along with libraries nationwide, CSU Libraries will celebrate banned books week (officially September 29 - October 6) with a month long display across from the loan and reserve desk on the first floor of Morgan Library.

The Library will provide lists of:

The 100 Most Frequently Challenged Books of 1990–20001

The Top 10 Most Challenged Books of 21st Century (2000-2005)

The American Libraries Association's 2006 list of most challenged books

We will display as many titles from our print collection from these lists as possible.

National Banned Books Week is sponsored by the American Booksellers Association, the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression, the American Library Association (ALA), the Association of American Publishers, the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the National Association of College Stores.   It is endorsed by the Library of Congress Center for the Book.

Please stop by the Book Showcase and check out these banned books!
