April showers bring May flowers, and during the month of May, the exhibit cases of the Archives and Special Collections reading room are featuring items from the Records of the Colorado Flower Growers Association. Materials on display relate to the “Glory Days” of Colorado carnations (when Denver was considered the carnation capital of the world), and include colorful carnation advertisements, photos of Debbie Reynolds visiting Denver for the world premiere of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” and a letter from Mamie Eisenhower to the Colorado Flower Growers. |
