The library is the heart of a university, and a 21 st-century library pushes beyond the walls of a single building: It employs an accessible digital network that allows rapid access to critical knowledge and information resources from anywhere in the world. To continue to serve Colorado State and the general public, the Libraries must continue to adopt the latest technology; expand access to databases and electronic resources; diversify facilities; and assure modern, widespread accessibility to users with a broad range of information needs and expectations.
Our 2008 strategic plan sets an ambitious course for us to continue to meet these goals. A highlight of our plan this year is the launching of the CSU Digital Repository, a single, permanent digital library of the cutting- edge work of our faculty, staff, and students, accessible to all on the world wide web. This digital repository will represent CSU's intellectual capital and showcases one of the many innovative ways knowledge can be shared and stored. I invite you to read our plan designed to address the evolving needs of our users and the many innovative ways we plan to deliver information resources.
