The CSU Libraries is an organization that assesses and evaluates the effectiveness of its collections and services and makes decisions based on use data and measures of impact.
STRATEGY 6.1: Build an effective, sustainable assessment process relevant to all aspects of library collections and services.
Key Events for Implementation
- Create a plan to coordinate and support assessment activities across all services.
- Review progress on recommendations of the FY07 ARL assessment study.
- Create an assessment plan for the CSU institutional repository.
- Explore the establishment of student and new faculty advisory groups.
Metrics & Measures of Progress
- Establish an assessment advisory team. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
- Develop an assessment plan which responds to the recommendations of the FY07. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
- ARL assessment study and identifies next steps with a proposed timeline. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
- Review the assessment plan for the CSU IR with LPG. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
- Decide on student and new faculty advisory groups. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
STRATEGY 6.2: Assess impact and effectiveness of services after the reorganization.

- Assess the effectiveness of the consolidated Information Desk including reference referral process.
- Assess progress on implementation of college liaison program.

- Produce recommendations about the effectiveness of the consolidated Information Desk including the reference referral process for LPG. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
- Finalize liaison proficiencies document and use to inform a plan for assessment. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
