GOAL 4:  DIVERSITY

The CSU Libraries is an organization that has a diverse faculty and staff. The Libraries collects intellectual resources that reflect diverse scholarship and points of view.

STRATEGY 4.1:  Increase diversity in all its forms.

Key Events for Implementation

  1. Work closely with ARL's Office of Diversity Initiatives to attract a diverse faculty and staff.
  2. Increase diversity of collections and programming to reflect multiple perspectives.
  3. Support university diversity initiatives.
  4. Participate in national efforts to address library workforce issues in the future.
  5. Increase recruiting of diverse applicant pools.
  6. Determine if an internship program would be beneficial for CSU's diversity.

Metrics & Measures of Progress

  1. Invite ARL Diversity Officer to campus to discuss issues. (Deadline: May 9, 2008)
  2. Document new materials supporting diversity of viewpoints. (Deadline: June 30, 2008)
  3. Provide support for CSU's diversity conference. (September 2007)
  4. Support university diversity programs as needed. (Deadline: June 30, 2008)
  5. Participate in national library workforce studies. (Deadline: June 30, 2008)
  6. Make a recommendation on the feasibility of an internship program to LPG. (Deadline: June 30, 2008)
