GOAL 2: INFORMATION LITERACY
The CSU Libraries is an organization that improves the information literacy of CSU students. (Reflected in University Goal 3: Curriculum)
STRATEGY 2.1: Ensure that students are aware of opportunities to learn research strategies, including the evaluation and management of information.
Key Events for Implementation:
- Revise CO150 based on the assessment conducted in FY07.
- Develop a plan for information literacy.
Metrics & Measures of Progress
- Complete plan for revised CO150 for fall semester 2008. (Deadline: June 30, 2008)
- Present plan for information literacy to LPG. (Deadline: June 30, 2008)
STRATEGY 2.2: Collaborate with TILT, the Master Teacher Initiative, and other campus strategies to improve student learning.
Key Events for Implementation:
- Collaborate with TILT, the Master Teacher Initiative, ISTeC, and other campus organizations.
- Identify opportunities for integrating subject-specific information literacy components in upper-level courses.
- Investigate campus initiatives in order to identify undergraduate research programs that could benefit from the Libraries participation/support.
Metrics & Measures of Progress
- Document work with TILT, Master Teacher Initiative, ISTeC, and other campus initiatives. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
- Document work with departmental faculty in targeted disciplines regarding information literacy integration. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
- Investigate working with the Registrar's Office and Curriculum Committee to assess current CSU curricula in order to identify key classes. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
- Report to LPG on potential campus undergraduate research initiatives in which the Libraries might be involved. (Deadline June 30, 2008)
